Starting in January 2015, UCP began providing in home supports to kids with our brand new program, ‘Building Blocks’! UCP has provided a strong Family Support Department for many years. We are familiar with the needs of families raising children with disabilities and are eager to provide another piece of the solution to promote happy, healthy, and well-balanced families. UCP will be offering Attendant Care, Relief Care (respite), and Skills Training to children funded through the K Plan.
Not only can UCP provide supports to youth, we are also a great place to get connected as children grow and their families begin to plan for their future in high school transition and into young adulthood. This is a new opportunity for us all and a very exciting time. If you are interested in accessing supports from UCP’s Building Blocks program, please contact the Children’s Services Manager, Tiffany Jones for more information: , or 503-777-4166 x356.
SibShops are a Unique Program Just for Brothers and Sisters of Kids with Special Needs
Sibshops are lively, fun-filled, 3-hour workshops that celebrate the many contributions made by the siblings of kids with special needs. Sibshops acknowledge that being a brother or sister of a person with special needs is for some a good thing, for others a not-so-good thing, and for many, somewhere in between. The Sibshop model mixes information and discussion activities with unique games and special guests.
